Largs Primary School Parent Council wish to fund the Primay 7 Residential trip to reduce the social inequities in attendance. The grant will contribute to learning opportunities, engaging children in their own education and teaching them key lifeskills such as independence and team work. Children learn in a variety of ways, outdoor learning is especially helpful in supporting children at risk of disengaging from education, thus contributing to ongoing cycles of deprivation. Engaged and educated young people who can work in teams contribute positively to their own lives and local areas.

52nd Ayrshire operates from St Marys Church Hall , our three sections run each week on a Tuesday and Thursday  Most of our children and young people are resident in Saltcoats with a few who travel from Stevenston and Ardrossan. We provide indoor and outdoor activities for children and young people  aged 6yrs  - 25 yrs. We provide activities that support health and well-being and that build confidence independence and self-esteem. We strive to provide activities that are fun , exciting that will create memories that will last forever. Our young people are decision makers and they are involved in the design , planning and implementation of programmes and activities We would like to apply for funding for our  2024 Group Camp. Our aim is to subsidise the camp for every young person in order to support families dealing with the impact of the cost of living crisis . We would like to provide every young person with the opportunity to attend  and make it accessible to all families particularly those who may have more than one child /young person in scouting .We would like to cover the costs of food and activities. Lawthorn Parent Council

Throughout lockdowns we have saw an increase in children becoming more comfortable sitting with devices than embracing all things outdoors. We know the huge benefits outdoor learning and play has on their mental health and well-being and introducing this as early as possible is crucial. Following periods of lockdowns we found many of our children struggle to interact and socialise, through outdoor learning/play we have reaped the benefits of not only these barriers reducing but through this they are being shown how the outdoors is benefitting them physically as well as mentally, often giving teachers the opportunty to have informal chats around healthy eating and its importance to them as they grow.  Following consultation with our young people, through the pupil focus group, they have asked if they could have some more resources for them to enjoy and learn outdoors with.  Following this the parent council purchased some of the "Operation Play Outdoors"  den building packages. These have had such amazing feedback from all year groups, however in order to provide more outdoor resources we must provide somewhere safe to store future purchases.

Paddle boards

The SAS explorer scout unit is based in the scout hall, Kilmeny Terrace, Ardrossan. The unit covers the three towns and is open to anybody who wishes to join. The unit takes part in scouting activities and adventurous activities including archery, kayaking and paddle boarding. The leaders of the unit are qualified instructors in the aforementioned activities. The unit runs these activities for other groups within North Ayrshire who do not have access to equipment or instructors.

Showtime Youth Theatre

The Showtime Youth Theatre Fundraising Committee is operated by parents who joined the Committee on a voluntary basis to enable the young people to participate in theatre productions. The Showtime Youth Theatre is open to young people with all abilities and from all backgrounds from 3-18 years old in Ayrshire. The classes and productions assist the young people to develop core life skills, social skills, better agility, making exercise fun as well as building trust, confidence, self motivation, self esteem and communication skills – a variety of physical and non physical wellbeing benefits. This supports our young people through taking part in drama, acting, dance, wellbeing, singing and public speaking events to further enhance their positive thoughts about their self worth and life experiences.

Whitehirst Park Primary Parent Council

We are looking to secure funding which will be used to support the pupils of Whitehirst Park Primary school. Funding will be used for transport, which will allow pupils to attend sporting events and events involving the arts (Music, Drama and Expressive Arts). Securing this funding will ensure that we can work actively to support our children from the school by allowing them to experience a range of opportunites whilst enhancing their learning. The opportunities to engage them in the lessons and learning they are exposed to in school, but in an out of school environment will help them understand the importane of their learning and give them long lasting memories. Some additional funding will be used to supplement the in-school resources related to these subjects.

We wish to improve the physical and mental health and well-being of the children at St. Palladius by increasing the amount of time they spend engaging in extracurricular physical activity.  We will fund sports coaches for a dance, football, and netball afterschool club. We will use the funds to promote wider achievements and allow the children to take part in sporting events outwith school.

Garnock Valley Sports Leaders

Garnock Valley Sports Leaders are a group of pupils who train in upskilling ourselves to go out into local primaries and secondary to provide sporting opportunities in the local area. As a group we want to be able to provide young people in our community with quality equal opportunities to take part in sport. We believe that this can promote healthy mental and physical wellbeing among these young people. Through leading these extra curriculum clubs, it helps boost young people’s overall physically activity to help meet the government’s guidance of 60 minutes a day. It teaches the young people the benefits of physical activity as well as how it can improve mental wellbeing. We also hope that in providing new sporting opportunies for young peole that they may be able to find one the enjoy or love. Through this we will be able to sign post to local clubs in the area to help add to a sense of community and spirit.

Young Photographer of the Year 2023

This venture aims to encourage as many young people as possible who reside in the North Coast locale to go out and about and take photographs on a particular theme (this year's theme is "Autumn"). Each entrant submits their best 2 images. These willl be judged and the authors of the top 3 images will receive prizes. In addition the club will  provide formal training in photography from specialists for young people interested in improving their photography skills.
