We would like to create a safe, warm environment in the clubhouse, for members ,and their friends, (not necessarily members), to meet, especially those who no longer golf. We wish to provide a space where, particularly, those who feel isolated may visit for social interaction and activities. This facility will support mental health wellbeing and reduce loneliness for many. Following the easing of Covid restrictions, we kept the clubhouse open, in all weathers, as a meeting place. A laptop would be great for our club of about 25 members. We welcome anyone over 18 interested in photography, regardless of skill level. Meeting on a monthly basis we enjoy helping each other make the most of our cameras. A laptop would allow us to have Zoom calls with guest speakers, cutting down on fees and travel expenses, but still allowing us to meet in our relaxed fun loving way, whilst learning about different styles of photography. A laptop could be used to learn post editing skills letting us turn our images from being good ones to fantastic ones.

We would like cooking lessons and to buy hobs and ingredients allowing us to plan and cook a healthy menu promoting a healthy lifestyle with a focus on the rising cost of living. We would like a themed party night where the young people can develop important social and life skills such as planning and budgeting. The group is somewhere young people from the Springside area can come together each week and take part in fun activities, spending time with friends. We would also like to experience a new activity such as ski-ing at Newmilns Dry Ski Slope as well.

The group are requesting funding to host a series of family bingo evenings, movie nights and a celebration day for the King’s Coronation. We would also like to provide at least one eight week family homework and cooking on a budget programme where families can come straight from school, get support with completing their children’s homework and then cook dinner together with a shared meal at the end of the programme which they have cooked together. These activities will promote a healthy and active life style as well as offering fun activities for all ages and improve community well being.

We are planning two events this year. Our 1st being (Coronation / Segdoun Crowning) and a 2nd Event (Christmas Lights/Festival). This is to encourage the full community to come together aiming to increase community well-being and positive mental-health. Our Segdoune Crowing is a historic annual event in Kilwinning that motivates our town on an annual basis to come together. This year we are celebrating the Kings Coronation on the same day encouraging people in the community to join in and have fun. Our Christmas Event this year will be a light switch-on event encouraging the community to come together.

Music on stage and opportunity for local talents to perform. Kids entertainment from Uncle Billy and Fabulous Fraser offered separately. Picnics are encouraged.

Largs Table Tennis Club

We have created a new Table Tennis Club for Largs and the local north coast and Cumbrae area, that will benefit the whole community, irrespective of age, ability and health. We run an open-to-all group session with activities for all abilities and ages. We have had attendance from ages 6 months to 93yrs! We offer FREE sessions for those under 18yrs. Our project is to hire or train our members to coach and train players. Our project will pay for attendance at accredited courses to develop players of all ages, through fun table tennis based activities.
Amount requested: £705
Attendance at Tennis Scotland's Coaching Level 1 course in Edinburgh, for 3 people including travel expenses. Course fee £135, course is on two days but separated by several weeks so there will be double travel expenses, estimated at £50 per visit, per person. £135+£100= £235 per person x 3 people = £705. Shared travel will reduce the costs, any reduced cost saving will be utilised for other training activities.
