Description
The group are requesting funding to host a series of family bingo evenings, movie nights and a celebration day for the King’s Coronation. We would also like to provide at least one eight week family homework and cooking on a budget programme where families can come straight from school, get support with completing their children’s homework and then cook dinner together with a shared meal at the end of the programme which they have cooked together. These activities will promote a healthy and active life style as well as offering fun activities for all ages and improve community well being.

£500 Food for Cooking On A Budget Programme, 10 sessions, 10 families x £5 per family £400 For family events throughout the year including hire of mobile cinema, food, cost of lets, children's entertainment
Location: Redburn Community Centre
Proposed on behalf of: Community events such as homework clubs, cooking groups, family bingo, movie nights and a celebration day will provide an opportunity for all members of the community to get together, socialise and learn new skills whilst participating in fun and engaging activities. Research has shown that social interaction and participation in activities such as these have a positive impact on mental health and well-being. These events will provide space for people to connect with others within their local community centre and build on positive relationships and confidence as well as reducing feelings of social isolation and loneliness. In addition engaging in fun leisure activities can promote a healthy and active lifestyle which is important for overall health and well-being. By hosting these events we hope to bring the community together and promote mental health and well-being and have a healthy and active community.
