Irvine Pipe Band

Our project will consist of hiring a professional grade 1 instructor to come to our meeting nights in the 10 week run up to competition season. As well as training the main band, they will also do sessions with beginners and intermediate players to gain an insight into professional pipe band playing. This experience will be beneficial for socially disadvantaged players who would not be able to afford an experience like this otherwise. There are also well known benefits to playing a music instrument for mental health and wellbeing.

Funds requested: £400

£20 per night, 2 nights a week for 10 weeks (20 x 2 x 10 = 400)

I would like to run an art club in partnership with the North Ayrshire Foodbank. Since November I have been providing arts and crafts sessions every week at the Foodbank's warm hub, which have been increasingly popular. Sadly, the funding is being pulled and so the people I've been working will no longer have these free sessions to attend, which was part of their weekly routine. I would use the money to run a weekly art club within the Foodbank, which would teach various practical skills, but also aim to build self-confidence, self-worth, and reduce social isolation.

The North Ayrshire Foodbank have said that if i received the Arts and Culture funding then they would enter partnership with me and provide an additional £400 to run the project.

We would like to host a fun, social transition disco/team-building event for all primary 7's coming to join us at Ardrossan Academy in the new school year.  This would create a more relaxed opportunity for the young people to link up before they formally join the secondary community.  There is huge value in the traditional transition days, however we are proposing a more relaxed and enjoyable experience to help ease the process and allow the children to experience the community feel rather than just classes.

Requested Amount: £1000

As our academy numbers grow substantially post COVID we are needing to replace our boards more often, these boards are very expensive and we go through a large amount throughout the year. We strongly believe that no child should go with out so we would like to purchase some darts that the youths can borrow whilst at the academy as well as more stems, flights, rings etc. We would also like to purchase some academy darts shirts for those that can't afford them so no child feels 'left out'.

Funds requested: £700

Winmau Blade 6 dart boards £49.95 x 10= £499.50 NADA Dart shirt £20 x6-£120 Stems/Flights/Rings £80.50
