Description
We are in the process of completing our community café we would like to be able to offer good low cost food for people in the local area while providing opportunities for people with learning disabilities. Our aim is to create a warm welcoming café for all , provide opportunities for learning new skills for future independence and potential employment . We would hope that these skills include catering, growing of produce , front of house skills , computer advertising skills and social skills , spending time with the local community offering friendships and shared learning for all. We hope to operate a weekly drop in community café that there is a soup and sandwich delivered at a very minimal charge .

Proposed on behalf of: we want to offer a whole host of opportunities for people with a learning disability to be seen as equals in their community we want to showcase what diversity can bring and that everyone has something to offer. We hope that the local community can become a real hub of support for not only those with a learning disability but for local people to share their gifts and experience and opportunities for friendship . The community café is a resource that we hope can build on people with learning disabilities skills and and encourage community involvement and sharing of skills . We hope that it is not only a café but the larger picture of the source of food and sustainability through learning and practice. All aspects of a café will provide learning down tot he advertising , growing of and purchasing of food to behind the counter , cooking and front of house hospitality . We hope that members of the local community will become involved and offer us ideas and help out with all aspects of the café should they wish . To build a welcoming and warm environment.
