Summary

Description

As our academy numbers grow substantially post COVID we are needing to replace our boards more often, these boards are very expensive and we go through a large amount throughout the year. We strongly believe that no child should go with out so we would like to purchase some darts that the youths can borrow whilst at the academy as well as more stems, flights, rings etc. We would also like to purchase some academy darts shirts for those that can't afford them so no child feels 'left out'.

Funds requested: £700

Winmau Blade 6 dart boards £49.95 x 10= £499.50 NADA Dart shirt £20 x6-£120 Stems/Flights/Rings £80.50

Location: Irvine

Proposed on behalf of: Over the past year our numbers of youths have grown substantially, we are the only darts academy in Scotland at this time, every week we are welcoming new members. We are a self funded, non profit organisation with volunteers giving up their Tuesday nights to run the academy and Saturdays/Sundays to take the youths to their Scottish ranking competitions which are held in Glenrothes and Luncarty, Perth. As we have so many members we have to replace our dart boards every couple of months as they are used constantly, these boards are very expensive for us to keep purchasing and we use up a lot of our club savings purchasing them, this money would help us immensely. We provide darts and accessories for youths who don't have any and these need replaced constantly. We compete in the Scottish SDA youth tour and also the JDCScotland ranking tour, the youths must wear a certain dress code (dart shirt) we would like to purchase some shirts to help the families that can't afford them due to the cost of living crisis at the minute. We strongly believe that all children should have the equal rights to join in and play darts with their peers no matter if they can/cannot afford the correct equipment or dress code. We are based in one of the most deprived areas in Irvine, our group of volunteers just want to provide a safe and relaxed place for the children to come whilst learning/playing a sport they enjoy.
