The breakfast club costs just over £100 per week to run, providing free breakfasts to 60-80 people every week it runs. This helps reduce the impact of the cost of living by allowing people to come to a warm safe space for food. It also helps link people up and improve mental health and wellbeing by bringing the community together.

We wish to encourage people to get together again after covid by holding two major concerts. The first would feature Kilwinning Orchestral Flutes and the second Irvine and Dreghorn Brass Band. We will invite school choirs to take part in both concerts. We will work in conjunction with Barrmill Jolly Beggars to deliver these two concerts. We believe there is still a major problem with many older folk being reluctant to get out and mix together and these two concerts aim to encourage socialising.

Concert 2 - Irvine and Dreghorn Band £700; School Choir donation £100; Hall Hire: £200; Master of Ceremonies £50 (travel expenses and thank you gift); First aiders (2) £50; purvey at interval: £300; Car park attendants: £30; Stewards: £40; Advertising/Tickets/programme £70.

We are seeking funding to pay for expedition equipment for our pupils (predominately our deprived/ disadvantaged young people) to use not only during DofE Expeditions, but during some Physical, Skills and Residential sectional activities too. We currently have a small supply of equipment that participants have access to, but with an increase in disadvantaged young people attending our group and our existing kit becoming redundant after constant use, we require a large number of additional items. Equipment items for running DofE sessions can include outdoor equipment (tents, walking boots, sleeping bags, etc.) and expedition food (our journeys can last up to 5 days in duration - food costs are a struggle for many of our participants, particularly the ones who obtain free school meals.
Requested Amount: £1000
DofE Expedition equipment (e.g. tents, walking boots, waterproof jackets) - £1000
