Breakfast Club (Redburn CC)
Investment project code: 22
Summary
Description
We would like funding to help continue the breakfast club over the next few months as previous funding has now come to an end. The breakfast club costs just over £100 per week to run, providing free breakfasts to 60-80 people every week it runs. This helps reduce the impact of the cost of living by allowing people to come to a warm safe space for food. It also helps link people up and improve mental health and wellbeing by bringing the community together.
Requested Amount: £1000
week x 10 weeks Total - £1000
Full breakdown of individual items available on request (bacon, eggs, slice, beans etc.)
Location: Redburn Community Centre, Dickson Drive, Irvine, KA12 9EW
Proposed on behalf of: The breakfast club takes place every second Saturday in Redburn Community Hub and is open to anyone across Irvine, no matter their circumstances. We provide a free cooked breakfast to everyone who attends, from cooked rolls to a full breakfast and pancakes. There is always a good buzz about the breakfast club where people come together to meet friends, meet new people and get a chat with our friendly volunteers. The main aims of the breakfast club is to alleviate poverty in the Irvine area and reduce social isolation.
