Summary
Description
We would like to purchase an outdoor picnic bench and a further 2 buddy benches for the children to promote outdoor learning and play. The children will utilise this space for outdoor learning, eating outdoors and a time out and buddy zone where children can go to enjoy some time alone or with their peers.
Funds requested: £1000
Bench - £395 x 2, picnic bench x £395 plus fittings.

Proposed on behalf of: The children recently were asking when applying for a youth grant what they would like the PTA to apply for. Unfortunately we were unsuccessful. The children chose bright rainbow coloured benches to utilise when outdoors. They wanted a time out zone with their peers however also wanted a space they could go to have lessons outdoor on a dry day or a space to eat lunch outside rather than on the ground on a nice day to get the benefits of spending time in the fresh air. The children felt the benches would promote their friendships and also allow them spaces to go when they were feeling overwhelmed or needed some time out. The PTA purchased 2 benches early in 2023 which have recently arrived, unfortunately we didn't have the funds for additional. The children have made some of the following comments to date: "The benches are cool, we've been sitting having lunch together" "We've been using them for games in between plays" "I really like them" "It's made me speak with my friends in class more as we are all playing together" "They are really colourful"
