Irvine Meadow 2009

2023-09-11  •  No comments  •  Irvine Meadow2009  •  Irvine

As a club we are always trying to improve the opportunities available to the children however we are constantly coming up against financial barriers due to the rising costs of hiring pitches, referee fees, coaches education and general equipment. We are currently raising money to take the team to a football tournament in Blackpool during the easter weekend 2024 which is a 3 night stay including 2 days of football for the children. This is a great opportunity for the team to socialise and have a weekend with their family and friends whilst playing competitive football.  Being accepted for this grant would help us reach our target ensuring that no boy misses out due to the cost for their family. The club are trying to cover the cost of the boys to reduce the amount that families need to pay however if we manage to raise more then we can reduce the costs further for families.

Cost of tournament fee - £140

Cost of accommodation for players - £2588

Cost of accommodation including parents - £6628

Garnock Valley Youth Forum

2023-09-14  •  No comments  •  GVYouthForum  •  Garnock Valley

The reason we are applying for Youth PB this time is to help people during this cost of living crisis and help young people in the Garnock Valley who are affected by food poverty.

We are applying for funding to stock up the kitchen cupboards in our project with food for the youth groups that run in the Garnock Valley. Such as ourselves the Youth Forum, Dalry P7 transition group, Kilbirnie P7 transition group and the S1 post transition groups. Each group would benefit  from nutritional and filling snacks and meals. Some particpants may not have much food at home due to the cost of living crisis and food poverty in the area. Particpants might also not have the time to go home afterschool and eat before the groups due to transport issues within the area or because the group starts straight afterschool so they rely on the food provided within the group to fill them up.

We would do a bulk order through a local supplier each month such as Reids and the food would be distributed at each group.

A rough breakdown of costs would be;

£200 for frozen food such as Burgers, burger rolls and pizzas.

£400 for perishable goods that would be bought weekly such as salad, fruit, vegetables and cheese.

£175 for Pasta, pasta sauces, cooking sauces, hotdogs and bread rolls.

£50 for diliuting and fruit juices.

£175 for other food items for young people with dietry requirements.

We would like to apply for the full amount we can £1000 so that we can provide food for as long as possible to each group.

Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2010 Holland Tournament

2023-09-07  •  No comments  •  Ardrossan Winton Rovers 2010  •  Three Towns

The cost of the trip is £449.00 per person which includes Transport, Accommodation on half board basis.  We have 16 boys and 4 coaches signed up along with an additional 19 family members who are making the trip to support the boys.  The total cost of the trip for the team is £8980.00 plus £8531.00 for the additional family members. It is our intention to fundraise to reduce the total cost for families to make this affordable and inclusive to all.  The current cost of living crisis makes it increasingly difficult for community groups to raise funds to create these opportunities.

The Play Leaders have been trained in the Move and Improve Programme and work in partnership with Active Schools, local clubs and secondary pupils to organise clubs, events and opportunities throughout the yearly calendar.  After having consulted over 200 children, they approached the Parent Council to request their help in funding their Play Leader Programme.  The Parent Council fully support the Play Leaders aim to improve the fitness, health and happiness of all children and endorse their application for funding to purchase new pla7 and sporting equipment.  On a daily basis, the Play Leaders will deliver various clubs in the playground which will be free and accessible to all from Primary 1 to Primary 7.  They will support children in developing their social, mental and physical knowledge and skills and will teach them new games and sports.  The Play Leaders have already gained great leadership skills, demonstrated teamwork and sportsmanship during training and in planning and organising their activities.  They have researched the equipment they require for these clubs and have itemised them and their cost in the below grid.

To fund our production, we would kindly ask for:

  • Licence to hire show - £500
  • Digital Projection Licence - £360

This would enable us to pay for the full script and musical score for our production. We would then be able to provide every pupil involved with their own Actors script to work from during rehearsals.

Cumbrae Curling Pond December 2022

Cumbrae Young Curlers

2023-09-10  •  No comments  •  Cumbrae  •  North Coast

Millport Curling Club would like to give young people on the island an opportunity to experience the sport of curling by arranging test sessions for 10-12 year-olds at a mainland ice rink. It’s challenging for young islanders to participate, given the need to travel off-island and the expense involved so we will arrange bus transport and professional coaching at a curling rink for a group of 10-12 year-olds to inspire and encourage them to get involved in the sport. Millport Curling club members will host the away-days, together with Cumbrae Primary School teaching staff and professional coaches, at Greenacres Ice Rink. The project will improve the health and well-being of young participants through physical activity and social connection and the funding will address the Cost of Living crisis by making the activity financially accessible for all youngsters who wish to take part.

Estimated costs for 2 sessions of 12 participants:

Ferry & Bus: £600

Venue fees (Ice/coaching): £300

Total: £900

£900

Sports Council

We would like to provide sports clothing to the young people in the Irvine area to allow them to have access to free sporting sessions.  As a Sports Council we provide a range of the activities (most are not at capacity) but we currently cannot provide the sports kit to allow some young people the ability to access. We feel under capacity is likely to be due to them not having kit.

Cheap dri-fit sports tshirts = approx £6 -7 per item.

Cheap dri-fit sports shorts =approx £7 per item

We would look to help up to 100-120 pupils and would look to variety of sellers to try and get best deal.  From our inital research we can buy this for reasonable price and we would go for best, and cheapest, to get us the most amount of items.

This will then allow them to access the 12-15 sports clubs that we run.
