Criteria and Themes

There are 4 seperate funds open in the 2023/24 round of PB:

  • Arts & Culture
  • Locality
  • Youth
  • UK Shared Prosperity

Each of these funds has similar - but unique - criteria that outline what can and cannot be funded. Each fund also has its own unique set of themes, which any proposals must align to.

To increase the opportunities for as many projects as possible to be funded, you may only submit an application to either the Locality or Youth funding (not applicable to those applying for Arts & Culture PB)

You can submit an application to the UK Shared Prosperity Fund PB in addition to either the Locality or Youth PBs, but this must be in partnership with at least one other organisation (not applicable to those applying for Arts & Culture PB)

It is very important that you read and understand the criteria for your application, as your application will be reviewed against this before voting opens. Any applications that do not meet the 'Essential Criteria' and 'What We Will Not Fund' will not progress to the public vote.

We also recommend that you take a look at our example application and guidance to see the kind of information that should be included in your application to demonstrate that you are eligible to apply for PB.
