Summary
The St. Bridget's Show Group provides the opportunity for pupils from Primary 4 to 7 to participate in a weekly after school club, to develop their skills in Music, Dance and Drama. This opportunity to expand their knowledge of the Expressive Arts also encourages communication and community as well as building the confidence of all pupils involved. The group will rehearse a Musical and perform this on stage for the rest of the school and local community.
This experience not only provides the opportunity for our pupils to explore Drama, Music and Dance at a greater depth, but a chance to perform on stage in a full scale musical.
Description
To fund our production, we would kindly ask for:
- Licence to hire show - £500
- Digital Projection Licence - £360
- 20 Actor scripts - £140
This would enable us to pay for the full script and musical score for our production. We would then be able to provide every pupil involved with their own Actors script to work from during rehearsals.
Location: The St Bridget’s Primary School Show Group is an after schools opportunity for pupils from Primary 4 to Primary 7. The Group meets weekly after school and we develop our skills in acting, performing, singing and dancing. Throughout the year, we work towards performing a show, chosen by us. Last year we performed Matilda Jr. It was fun and it felt awesome to perform on stage to an audience. Being part of the School Show Group has many benefits: as well as enjoying performing, it is great to be part of a team and work towards a goal with our friends and it builds our confidence. It is great that we have the St Bridget’s School Show Group, as we know not all schools have this and there are no other groups like this in our local community. Being part of the Group makes us want to do more of this in secondary school and in the future people who are in the School Show Group might want to study or work in performing arts. P and S, P7 pupils.
