Kilwinning Rangers 2014
2024-09-12 • No comments • • Kilwinning
Kilwinning Rangers 2014 are applying for funding of £1000 to help the team reach their target of buying new balls, cones and bibs, training pack for each player and to play in a youth festival in a different area.
A successful application would support the team to reach these goals and help the coaches improve the experience and level of training that is taking place currently. The funding would also support the families by lightening the financial burden and allowing all players to have their own training packs so everyone is wearing the same and feel part of the team.
The £1000 funding would be used to help the team secure the following:
- New balls/training equipment so there are enough balls for each player when doing drills in training and different equipment to aid in different training exercises and warm up drills - £10 per ball x 35 = £350 - Cones and bibs - £40 total £390
- Trip to football festival - We would love to give our players the opportunity to experience playing in different football festivals all over the country but due to funding this can be difficult as we have 30 players which make up 3 team playing 7 a side currently. Estimated cost: 3 teams entered into festival £100 per team per festival = £300 total for one festival.
- Training packs ( shorts, top, socks, ½ zip, rain jacket) for each player so everyone has the same kit to wear on Mondays and Thursday for training and means that the football kits would only be worn on match days. All players would also be ready for all weather playing. Estimated cost £61 per player x 35 = £2,135
We would be looking for the additional funds to meet our goals to be provided by the parents/guardians, hence how important this fund could be to the team and families during this cost of living crisis to ensure that all players have the same kit and nobody is left behind.
Greenwood Academy Football Team
2024-09-20 • No comments • • Irvine
Greenwood Academy Parent Council wishes to support the 11-18 girls football team. The team attends tournaments throughout the year including Scottish Cup, Spar 7's, Ayrshire Cup and looking to enter the Blackpool International next Easter 2025. We currently have approximately 35 kids at training on a weekly basis and rotate the squad to ensure everyone gets the opportunity to play/be involved in the group.
We have a large number of talented players in the school with 6 girls being selected for the 2nd round of the senior girls Ayrshire squad and have 8 on trial with under 15 South West team. The team provide senior pupils with the opportunity to coach younger groups within the school giving them the opportunity to learn about coaching and improving their responsibilities. This is positive as younger players look up to seniors as positive role models. Staff provide water and free transport to ensure we remove any barriers that young people may face. We have agreements with teams in the community to provide cheaper or free training fee's to ensure everyone gets the same opportunity.
Football strips plus goalie kit £650
Footballs: £22.50 each x7 £135
Waterproof Jackets for subs £18.95 x5 £95
Bibs: £7 each x12 £84
Cones: £9.95 for 10 x2 £19.90

St Peter's Parent Council: sport for all
2024-09-13 • No comments • • Three Towns
The after-school classes are offered to all of the pupils at St Peter's. These clubs are free and local to the children, which means parents avoid travelling to drop off/collect their children, and save money on extra-curricular activities. The clubs have many other benefits - as well as developing healthy minds and bodies, they equip the children with valuable skills that will help them throughout their time in school and onto later life.
To make the clubs more fun and inclusive, sports kits are required for the children to wear in tournaments against other schools. A team kit will help to create a sense of identity and unity among the teams, promote a sense of equality, and help to boost morale and confidence, creating a sense of pride.
Due to the cost of living crisis, it is not practical to ask parents to contribute to the cost of the kits.
Funding is also required for new sports equipment to be used at the after-school clubs, as well as during class time.
The funding will be spent on the following:
Training bibs - £70 Full kits (tops, shorts, socks, etc) for all teams - £700 Sports equipment (netballs, footballs, goals, tennis rackets and balls) - £230

Sports Council Go for Gold
2024-09-20 • No comments • • Three Towns
The Sports Council will consult with pupils to see what activities they are interested in and then work with our Active Schools Coordinator to get those clubs set up. The senior pupil leaders at Auchenharvie will come and coach us. To attract more pupils to the clubs we will sign up to attend events on the Active Schools Calendar. Currently we have no budget for transport to events so if we were successful with our application we would use the money for transport to events and for equipment to support our clubs and teams. This would made our school much more active at lunch times and after schools and would make our application for Gold school sport award much stronger.
Costs:
Equipment for after school clubs £500
Travel to events £500

Irvine Royal Academy Parent Council - Mental Health Matters
2024-09-07 • No comments • • Irvine
We wish to provide resources for pupil Mental Health Ambassadors (S5 and 6 pupils) to help them develop a safe space in the school where all young people can access support for their mental health. All Mental Health Ambassadors will receive training - the Parent Council will use Youth PB Funding to cover travel expenses and certificates/badges. Badges will ensure all Mental Health Ambassadors are easily identifiable to all young people in the school to approach if they want support.
- Resources for safe space eg. posters, beanbags, fidget toys - £300
- Travel expenses/badges/certificates - £200
In addition, we wish to increase awareness and challenge attitudes, beliefs and cultural norms that underpin gender-based violence, through the promotion of the Mentors in Violence Prevention (MVP) programme. This programme, aimed at S5 and 6 pupils, addresses physical violence, name-calling, sexting, coercive and controlling behaviour and harassment, which all have an impact on young people's mental health. The MVP programme supports young people to positively influence the attitudes and behaviours of their peers. Pupils will receive training which will then allow them to become MVP mentors to deliver programmes to Primary 7 pupils through to S3 pupils, with a focus on encouraging young people to become active bystanders, by challenging and reporting gender-based violence. The Parent Council will use Youth PB Funding to cover training travel expenses, and certificates/badges. The 16 Days of Action Against Domestic Violence Campaign, beginning 25th November, will be promoted by MVP mentors in the school through planned events (still to be decided) which the Parent Council hope to fund through Youth PB Funding.
- Travel expenses/badges/certificates - £200
- Cost of snacks for pupils involved in the 16 Days Of Action - £100
- Planned events run by MVP Mentors - £200

5th Dreghorn Rangers

- The current hall cost is £88 a year
- End-of-year badge cost per girl £20
- Craft budget £150
We would also like to seek funding to organise a camping trip for the girls. Due to the small nature of the group, we have more difficulty in finding funding opportunities to arrange an end-of-year trip. The cost per girl would be £50, this would be a total cost of £600 to stay at the Blair activity centre with 3 leaders. This is the minimum cost as we would need funding for food £150, resources £200 and badges £30.
