We are planning to run a 5-day trip with the Ocean Youth Trust for 10 young people who have had to overcome many difficulties in their life.  An OYT Scotland voyage is genuinely a life changing experience.  Their voyages help young people to discover their potential through the adventure of youth work on the waves. The OYT will spend time working with the young people to develop their leadership skills, self-confidence & teamwork as well as teaching them to sail a 70 foot yacht around the west coast of Scotland.

We would like to host a fun, social transition disco/team-building event for all primary 7's coming to join us at Ardrossan Academy in the new school year.  This would create a more relaxed opportunity for the young people to link up before they formally join the secondary community.  There is huge value in the traditional transition days, however we are proposing a more relaxed and enjoyable experience to help ease the process and allow the children to experience the community feel rather than just classes.

Requested Amount: £1000

The funding will allow us to buy much needed resources for the group. This would encourage more young people attend and tackle social isolation in this rural village which has a massive effect on  mental health and contributes to stress, anxiety.

By purchasing new resources  will encourage members of the group to continue to attend as well as attracting  new members, to participate in calming activities to tackle and combat any stress and anxiety they may be feeling.

We are looking to reduce the young peoples stress and anxiety in the locality as well as promoting diversity and social inclusion.
