Skelmorlie youth group
Investment project code: 72
Summary
Description
The funding will allow us to buy much needed resources for the group. This would encourage more young people attend and tackle social isolation in this rural village which has a massive effect on mental health and contributes to stress, anxiety.
By purchasing new resources will encourage members of the group to continue to attend as well as attracting new members, to participate in calming activities to tackle and combat any stress and anxiety they may be feeling.
We are looking to reduce the young peoples stress and anxiety in the locality as well as promoting diversity and social inclusion.

Proposed on behalf of: Skelmorlie youth group is open to all young people 11-25 years to come along and participate in a structured programme of activities and issue-based discussions relevant to the group. The funding would help resource our youth group to enable us to participate in activities that would make us healthier, safer and more active. There is not a lot for young people to do within Skelmorlie so this would really help our group. With the effects of the past 2 years, we are looking to bring more young people together and are keen to bring in resources that keep the mind active and helps tackling stress and anxiety. from past experience, the young people love all arts and crafts and this reflects in their behaviour at the group. The project/ group is continues and if successful we will be able to promote new activities for the start of the next sessions start date, nearer the end of April. The project/ group will also have a positive impact on any anti social behaviour within the village which is one of the issue based topics we discuss with the young people.
