The donated bicycles we are recycling, often require components we do not have available. The ability to replace worn tyres or stretched chains for example, would allow us to make our community bicycles safer and more durable, allowing users to venture further with confidence.

Proposed on behalf of: The current cost of living crisis is affecting many people in our community who previously were able to manage. With our Velotech qualified mechanics recycling donated bicycles to mobilise people with transport constraints, we are providing a sustainable form of transport for shorter commutes with the added health benefits of the exercise that provides. We will also be running a weekly Dr. Bike clinic on Wednesday evenings during the year, where we will be ensuring the bicycles which have been lain unused during the winter are safe for use, brakes and gears working properly, also giving us the opportunity to promote the use of safety headgear while riding.
