We have outgrown our small basic greenhouse. We have been able to raise most of the funds to purchase a new substantial larger one. This will benefit our volunteers and schools and will enable us to grow so much more from seed and give us an extra space for teaching, producing more fruit and vegetables to give back to our community. We have found the health and wellbeing of our volunteers and visitors have greatly improved by participating at the community garden.

To sustain & develop our pilot recovery hub for people affected from substance use by providing educational materials to create a lived experience conversation cafe, support groups, health and wellness resources, training & employability skills, access to advice & information and community connections. We hope to serve as an accessible, central hub to the local community connecting individuals in recovery & those affected by addiction serving with resources and support networks, with a no wrong door approach.

Santa’s Sparkle is an annual event which heralds the start of the festive season on the Island. Beginning with Santa’s arrival by boat and his parade to the High School, we have a day of music performed by local musicians of all disciplines, a market of local crafters, lots of fun activities for children, food, drink and of course, an opportunity to meet Santa. The day ends with a Jack Frost lantern walk, with lanterns made by children during the day and then the lighting of the Christmas tree and fireworks.

5th Ardrossan (St Peter's) Brownies

We would like to give our Brownies the opportunity to take part in the Girlguiding programme which includes learning new hobbies, getting creative, developing skills having outdoor adventures, cooking and learning life skills. We would also like go on a summer outing of the girls choosing. This will enable children to socialise by meeting new friends and participating in fun activities that they may not be able to participate in due to the current cost of living crisis.

We have recently seen larger numbers coming to our classesso our aim is to do a production of Annie the musical. we are going to double cast the show so that all students get to be in the performance. Feedback from our Christmas production demonstrated that everyone felt more confident, their mental wellbeing was so much better and enjoyed working on a project with end result.

We want to give our Adult Drama group a chance to perform a play for communities within the three towns. The group will create the show and it is to be directed by an external industry professional. We want to focus on the local area and all the enchanting stories North Ayrshire and the three towns has to offer. Our Adult Drama group give participants the chance to express themselves, promote the community and reap all the benefits the art s has on mental health and wellbeing.

We would like to expand the community orchard at Holm Plantation in Ardrossan. We planted the first 50 fruit trees in the orchard there recently and would use PB funding to add an additional 27 apple trees. The community orchard will help address the climate challenge by reducing food miles and sequestering carbon, and will make local people healthier by providing them with free fresh fruit.

We are planning to run a 5-day trip with the Ocean Youth Trust for 10 young people who have had to overcome many difficulties in their life. An OYT Scotland voyage is genuinely a life changing experience. Their voyages help young people to discover their potential through the adventure of youth work on the waves. The OYT will spend time working with the young people to develop their leadership skills, self-confidence & teamwork as well as teaching them to sail a 70 foot yacht around the west coast of Scotland.

Springside Youth Group

We would like cooking lessons and to buy hobs and ingredients allowing us to plan and cook a healthy menu promoting a healthy lifestyle with a focus on the rising cost of living. We would like a themed party night where the young people can develop important social and life skills such as planning and budgeting. The group is somewhere young people from the Springside area can come together each week and take part in fun activities, spending time with friends. We would also like to experience a new activity such as ski-ing at Newmilns Dry Ski Slope as well.
