Description
To sustain & develop our pilot recovery hub for people affected from substance use by providing educational materials to create a lived experience conversation cafe, support groups, health and wellness resources, training & employability skills, access to advice & information and community connections. We hope to serve as an accessible, central hub to the local community connecting individuals in recovery & those affected by addiction serving with resources and support networks, with a no wrong door approach.

Contribution to Irvine Youth Forum charity to assist with costs to allow them to continue to provide the space for us - £500 Provision of Snack & hot drink - £300 Resources such as writing materials/educational resources throughout the year £200

Proposed on behalf of: In the 2 months we have piloted the weekly Recovery Hub with thanks to Irvine Youth Forum providing us with the space, we have seen 160 people come through the door, some just passing by on their way to the shop/pharmacy/gp or even job-centre, we have facilitated Naloxone training & assisted individuals with information & or signposting with a number of issues, including, accessing gp's, domestic violence, benefits/finances, harm reduction, children & families support, literacy skills, fuel poverty, food poverty, digital poverty & isolation, this list is not exhaustive. With our 'No Wrong Door Approach; we offer an accessible, peer led, central recovery hub that provides those in recovery or affected by addiction access to support & information without fear of judgment or stigma. By offering a drop-in facility, people can gain information and advice about addiction recovery without having to make an appointment. We provide a safe space that with Nourishment and Comfort: Providing snacks and drinks helps to address immediate needs and improve well-being, which can be an important step in the recovery process. Signposting to Relevant Services: The recovery hub can help people access the right services and resources to support their journey towards recovery. Peer Support: A conversation cafe run by lived experienced individuals provides a supportive environment where people can share their experiences, gain support and advice from others who have gone through similar struggles, and build a sense of community. Stigma Reduction: By creating a welcoming, supportive environment, the recovery hub can help reduce stigma around addiction and promote understanding and acceptance. Improved Mental Health: Access to information, resources, and peer support can help improve mental health and overall well-being, which is essential for recovery from addiction. Increased Engagement and Retention: By providing a drop-in facility and a range of services, the recovery hub can increase engagement and retention in addiction treatment, which can lead to better outcomes
