Primary Schools' Education Programme: Irvine Burns Club
No comments Irvine
Annually, guided by our volunteer guides P6 pupils and staff from all 12 local schools (450 in 2026) visit Wellwood Burns Centre & Museum to learn about Robert Burns and the role Irvine played in inspiring and encouraging Burns, the apprentice flax-dresser, to become Burns, the apprentice poet.
The “Champion of Champions” verse speaking event allows primary pupils to show their budding speaking skills, boosting their self-confidence and gain an appreciation of the Scots language.

Our Unit is part of a larger organisation, but despite this we struggle to fund outings. Annual subscriptions have recently risen to over £70 per child, placing additional pressure on families and limits what we can provide. The Unit has been running over 30 yrs, supporting girls aged 4-7 with a safe space that promotes friendship and new interests. We also rely on a weekly subscription of £2.50, which helps cover basic running costs but does not stretch far enough to fund outings.
Garnock Rugby Club Junior Tour
No comments Garnock Valley
We are applying for funding for the Garnock Rugby Club Junior Tour. A youth rugby tour is a clear example of community action because it immobilises local people, develops young citizens, promotes inclusion, strengthens community identity and represents the area beyond its borders. It delivers lasting social value that extends far beyond the sport itself. Funding would go a long way to offset one of our biggest costs, which is transport.
KFA Thistle 2015- Winterproofing Our Players & Supporting Their Development 2027
1 comment Kilwinning
KFA Thistle 2015s are seeking £947 to invest in essential winter kit and training equipment for our young players.
As we move into the colder and wetter winter months from January 2027, we want to ensure our players are properly equipped to continue training and playing safely and comfortably. Funding will allow us to purchase every child a rain jacket and some large changing robes for players on the substitutes’ bench, providing warmth and protection during cold, wet match and training days.

We are a community youth football team committed to giving local children the opportunity to participate in sport, develop skills and enjoy being part of a team. We currently have 16 players who are beginning an exciting transition to 11-a-side football. The coaches are volunteers who give their time each week to provide two training sessions and support the team at games. Our aim is to create a positive, inclusive environment where every player feels valued, builds confidence and has fun.
