KFA Thistle 2015- Winterproofing Our Players & Supporting Their Development 2027
Summary
KFA Thistle 2015s are seeking £947 to invest in essential winter kit and training equipment for our young players. As we move into the colder and wetter winter months from January 2027, we want to ensure our players are properly equipped to continue training and playing safely and comfortably. Funding will allow us to purchase every child a rain jacket and some large changing robes for players on the substitutes’ bench, providing warmth and protection during cold, wet match and training days.
Description
Following the decision to take two teams into the 9-a-side league in June, a number of parents and coaches have stepped up to ensure that the 15 children in KFA Thistle 2015s continue to have a structured, safe and nurturing environment in which to play and develop in the sport they love. This was almost not an option.
We are seeking £1,000 to help us provide the children with the equipment they need to continue enjoying football throughout the Scottish winter from January 2027, while taking some of the financial pressure away from families.
A key part of our project is to “winterproof” our players. We want to provide each child with a waterproof jacket so that training remains as comfortable as possible in Scotland’s cold, wet and unpredictable weather. We also identified last season that children waiting on the sidelines can quickly become cold and wet. We would therefore like to purchase five large waterproof sub coats, similar to dry robes, which can be shared by players while they wait to go on.
The remaining funding will be invested in essential training equipment, including goalkeeper aids, shooting targets, agility equipment and fitness/warm-up aids, allowing our volunteer coaches to deliver more varied, engaging and purposeful sessions as we move through the 2027 season.
Most importantly, we want every child to have access to the equipment they need without placing additional costs on parents. This funding would directly support the wellbeing, development and enjoyment of all 15 children in our care.
