We’re continuing to develop our community garden which after a year of development now has raised beds for food-growing for the Village Larder. Our social gardeners successfully grew food from a pop-up for the larder last year whilst developing the community garden. Growing food together is educational, brings people together socially to exercise outdoors. Growing for the larder encourages community engagement and purpose, it provides a source of healthy produce for people on lower incomes. Developing other areas of the garden to provide a restful, communal green space will encourage more volunteer-engagement,and is good for mental and physical health.

Our project is an extra curricular Organic Gardening Club focusing on growing our own fruit and vegetables in a sustainable way within our primary school grounds. We would like to develop our project and group by purchasing materials to filled our raised beds which are lying empty in time for this years growing season.

The funding will allow us to buy much needed resources for the group. This would encourage more young people to attend and tackle social isolation in this rural village which has a massive effect on  mental health and contributes to stress, anxiety.

By purchasing new resources that will encourage members of the group to return as well as attract new members.

We are looking to reduce the young peoples stress and anxiety in the locality as well as promoting diversity and social inclusion.
