As a support worker looking after people with additional needs they enjoy time in the library having the use of the computers, having the story time every week and also going in with art work for it to be displayed. They also enjoy group in to help organise the books by tidying up so this could have an impact on the guys and will be missed
The people we support frequently attend the library as part of their Friday routine. They have been completing imaginary poetry which has helped the people we support develop creative skills, work on writting ability which have help develop dexterity and fine motor skills in hand these are transferable skills that the people we support can utilise in other areas of daily living. The library has provided a community for the people we support, providing a safe space for them to grow and learn. These new proposed time would be devastating to our service and the people we support
Reduced access will make it less easy to drop in having some opening on alternate weeks will make it more difficult to know if library is open or not. Activities such as book club will need to be rescheduled. The library is an important hub
The library is one of the only spaces left where you can go without the expectation of spending money, not only that but physical media is so important in this digital age with the literacy crisis and influx of children being raised by technology. Access to free literature is imperative to the development of healthy children. Save the libraries! Funding the libraries should be a priority
I use the library mostly on Thurs/Fri as it suits me better. I've recently retired and I also find it a nice place to mix with other people within the community and although I have kind of a set routine, lots of other individuals have it as part of their daily routine and the staff are pleasant, helpful and as nice as they come. Nothing is ever a bother for them, this also includes staff that have left in the past. I would personally prefer hours and staff remain as they are
Accessing the library within afternoons during the week including Thursday and Friday was regular to be able to access the resources, if anything having Wednesday open would be precious and changing library on Saturdays to be 12 - 1 or 1 - 2 might be even more practical. Staff and facilities are lovely. Winter and Summer and if anything Ardrossan and North Ayrshire would benefit from more open third spaces for older and disabilities people
The closure on the Thursday and Friday is a problem as these would be the 2 days I bring my 7 year old daughter to change her books. This is a community asset and restricting the hours and days open in hindsight will lead to further closures in the future. I am not supportive of 2 days of closure and a half day closure alternate weeks

I often need the use of a photocopier for documents travel, insurance etc. On the last Saturday of each month the library has a film in the morning which is great for me as I don't have a television. The library is the best place in winter for people to go when it is cold. Children are our future and the library has the school children visit so they can enjoy reading. This isn't a good idea to close the libraries 3 days a week. They should be a community resource not an afterthought. Ardrossan has little enough
A 37% reduction to opening hours from 26 hours to 16.5 makes the service largely inaccessible and possibly close to shutting down the branch. In my opinion Under the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964, UK councils must provide a "comprehensive and efficient" library service. Such drastic library cuts could arguably breach that obligation
