It will drastically reduce access and availability to me, as well as affect requesting books for pick up ( which branch? What week? Can I get to it before hold date comes round?)
These changes are not good for me and my family to begin with. I have two boys and we do visit the library more than 3 times a week. This has been a safe haven for my boys to also meet with other members of the community with most of the church members coming for activities and meet and socialise in such a safe place by closing some days you would have negatively impacted the families and members of the community benefitting from the lovely staff and programme currently offered for us. Please kindly stop this change
I use library for job search as I don't have wi-fi at home. Shorter hours mean less chance of getting on computer as everyone else will also be using one. Plus I love to read books
I am disabled, fixed income so I cannot afford a printer. I use the library to print things for my groups I am running. I also borrow books. Due to medical stuff watching TV/Screens hurts, so reading is the constant accessible media for me. I cannot afford to buy books and e-books are also painful. I borrow physical books. My carer/partner works as well so the hours we can come are limited to Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The changes would take 2 of these opportunities from me. I won't be able to use the library except on one day and that's if my health is okay that day too...
I work at the first part of the week so no opening on Thurs and Friday would have a detrimental affect on my use of the library for borrowing and returning. I order books online to the library for pick up and will now have a much narrower window for pick up at my local
I work for Sense Scotland which is attached to Ardrossan Library, we support adults with additional needs, the people we support love to visit the library. We have 2 people we support that like to take out books and make sure they return them on time. This gives them a huge sense of achievement. We also attend story telling and poetry which our guys love as we have become very good friends with both Richard and Stacey who are fabulous with our guys. We also display a small selection of our art work and the people we support love the fact that others can see their art work. The library is just such a lovely place to be.
The people we support love accessing the library for story telling sessions, the staff were great with involving everyone. We also enjoyed sharing our art projects to put up for display. we enjoyed going through every week/2 weeks to put new items up for display for the community to enjoy
For personal reasons my family enjoyed accessing the library for bookbug and various activities for my nephew which he loved.

I can walk to Ardrossan and Saltcoats. Stevenston I will have to get public transport
