Participatory budgets phases



A total of £7,200 is available to local organisations (£400 max per app), please see themes below...

A. Community Spirit -  Example of activity could include the development of new quality arts participatory experiences in music, dance, and arts workshops, for communities that may not engage in the arts. Providing opportunities to work alongside professional Artists, Artist in residence.   

B. Green Projects - Creative projects, activities, or events that are environmentally inclined, that support carbon reduction and tackle our climate crisis. Example - Staging of environmentally related performances/visual arts events that respond to climate change. Art activities that raise awareness of green issues. 

C. Health and wellbeing - Examples of activity could include delivering a small-scale arts project, exhibition, performance or an event with an arts and culture focus. Writing and drama collaboration that contribute to stories or performances, dance projects, film projects, intergenerational work which can help reduce social isolation, increase the health and wellbeing of vulnerable groups.

Applications have now closed, and are now being reviewed.

All applications are checked by volunteer community reviewers, who read all applications to ensure they meet the relevant 'Essential Criteria' and 'What We Will Not Fund'. Any applications that don't meet the criteria will not progress to the vote. 

We may contact you during this period to confirm information or ask for additional information, so please keep checking your inbox (and junk/spam folders!) just in case. 

All applicants will be notified via email once the status of their application has been confirmed.

How to vote: Arts & Culture

  • Log in/Sign up
  • Review all of the projects to decide which three you would most like to see funded.
  • To cast your vote, select your favourite three projects from the list and click 'Submit Ballot'.

You must be logged in to be able to vote, which you can find out more about here in Step 1. 

If you need help to vote online or on paper, your local library can support you - pop in to your nearest branch to find out more.

Help with participatory budgets

In participatory budgets the citizens decide to which projects are included in the budget.
