Very difficult to complete online 5/10 couldn't get on. Bus lives and many reasons time suits and people prefer 5pm. Need to make changes to fit in with group. Only time that fits working people to come. Lost members with previous cuts accepted last change but this one affects future members! Have key held before but would need 2 keyholders and that is a big commitment, least regular attendees will need to discuss. Would still be able to meet. What’s the chance of a positive outcome for us? How confident the decision makers are that public will be able to complete consultation. Emails received the first time. Consul – would be better to receive confirmation of submitting email. Open later a couple of nights and then open later in the morning. A lot of book groups meet during the day, have a once every 4 weeks later opening – that would be useful. Can we have a bit of warning about changes being implemented so we can plan.
A change of start time from 5pm to 4pm would mean that I would find it difficult to arrive by 4pm and would obviously miss this very important aspect of my social life. The group has been built up to a successful number of 13 members who have formed a bond to have open, informative and fun discussions. Other library users would lose out on a change of hours too, especially those in employment.
The time of our monthly book club meeting will no longer be available to me. This is a problem for me as I have to re-organized me social life, but more of a problem to those of the group who are still employed.
Our book group meets at 5pm -6pm on a Tuesday. If the time is changed to an earlier time, there are members of the group who will not be able to attend and this will have a huge impact on the group.
My book group meets at 5pm to 6pm on Tuesdays every few weeks. This meeting could not take place. We are the only book group in North Ayrshire that allows members to meet in the late afternoon for workers and those with busy lives. We only meet every four weeks so we are not seeking opening hours every week, just every fourth. Key holder solutions are all very well provided we can find willing volunteers but we also engage with other library services via staff when we come to our book group.
Although I am retired I have many interests and commitments which fill my days. I have arranged a routine to fit in with attending book group every 4th Tuesday from 5pm to 6pm. Changing the meeting time due to change in hours would be inconvenient and possibly result in my not being able to attend the group with resultant impact on the social support received.
