I have been a member of the library since the 1980s. Kilwinning library plays a very important part in the community. Apart from lending books and giving IT services it also plays host to many groups. The proposed cut in hours, while not ideal, is better than more severe measures
Member since 1990's, primarily as a book reader, joining very soon after moving into the area (joining the local library is invariably one of the first things I do when moving home, even when not permanent). I worked as a consultant/freelance for several years and found the library's provision of quiet desks and seating valuable as a means of breaking myself away from the narrow focus of my home office desk. IT service was useful too when my computer needed repair.
