Reducing opening times so that there is no after '5pm' opening time is going to impact a lot of people as there are a lot of people who with between the hours of 8-6.
Even if there was an implemented safe way to 'drop off' returned books, the reduced evening times would likely result in less books borrowed by that group of people too.
The proposal to reduce the time the library is open on a Tuesday will negatively impact me I like to go after work and the late Tuesday evening opening allows me to do. It will be difficult to go when it is reduced. I believe it is best for the community and the library users to have one late night opening
I usually go to the library on a Saturday but I've started a new job which will include working some Saturday's. I was planning to go on a Tuesday when the library is open to 7pm but this will stop as part of the proposal. The new proposed hours will be hard to fit around my shifts. I think there should be at least one late night opening for people who work full-time and may not be available at the weekend.
For me personally, the changes specifically to the Irvine library would not impact me, and I am grateful that it appears the opening hours will not change too dramatically, although I note that the late evening hours on Tuesday will change, which may impact others who work regular 9am-5pm hours. I am in the fortunate position of being a full-time PhD student, so I can be flexible with my time.

Not me partially however later nights were a godsend for additional study time for my children at exam times.
