Showtime Youth Theatre
No comments Irvine
The Showtime Youth Theatre Fundraising Committee is operated by parents who joined the Committee on a voluntary basis to enable the young people to participate in theatre productions. The Showtime Youth Theatre is open to young people with all abilities and from all backgrounds from 3-18 years old in Ayrshire.
The classes and productions assist the young people to develop core life skills, social skills, better agility, making exercise fun as well as building trust, confidence, self motivation, self esteem and communication skills – a variety of physical and non physical wellbeing benefits. This supports our young people through taking part in drama, acting, dance, wellbeing, singing and public speaking events to further enhance their positive thoughts about their self worth and life experiences.
WK Print Studio - Young Peoples printing projects - Local Environment
No comments North Coast
The WK Print Studio is run by volunteers and acts as a hub for creative experiences for young people, adults and groups working where possible to give free workshops or very low cost therefore making access as inclusive as possible. We would like to create a series of free print studios to young people using the local community and environmental areas of the village to inspire a series of print workshops. We will also look at ways of printmaking that are environmentally friendly and makes use of materials normally discarded and this will bring an awareness of environmental issues and how we can use things around us. It is also openly recognised that creativity is such a positive force for mental health support and the arts bridge language and culture.
St. Bridget's Parent Council (School Show)
No comments Garnock Valley
The St. Bridget's Show Group provides the opportunity for pupils from Primary 4 to 7 to participate in a weekly after school club, to develop their skills in Music, Dance and Drama. This opportunity to expand their knowledge of the Expressive Arts also encourages communication and community as well as building the confidence of all pupils involved. The group will rehearse a Musical and perform this on stage for the rest of the school and local community.
This experience not only provides the opportunity for our pupils to explore Drama, Music and Dance at a greater depth, but a chance to perform on stage in a full scale musical.

Barnardo's Christmas Outing
No comments Irvine
Barnardo's works with young people across North Ayrshire in a variety of services. We would like to take the young people to a Pantomime this Christmas as their Christmas activity. We did this last year with non-recurring funding so this year we are looking for support as the young people that attended last year had such a good time, they got out the house, socialised and made new friends, and had a laugh. We will take the young people for dinner before the Panto and make them up a snack bag for the show. This activity will help young people with their mential health and wellbeing and social isolation. Dates for this years Pantomime are from 1st December to 7th January.

young ambassadors
No comments Three Towns
We as young ambassadors at Ardrossan Academy would like to apply for funding towards our extra curricular clubs equipment. We have a variety of clubs going on within the school for all ages however the lack of equipment means we are limited to how many kids can take part and what sports they can be offered. Alot of the equipment is dated and in need of replacement. This new equipment would allow for more pupils to get involved in sport who do not get the opportunity out with of school. The cost of local clubs means some of our pupils don't get the chance to try different sports and the volunteers/teachers within the school who co-ordinate the clubs need some support with this equipment fund.
Kilwimbeldon Tennis Club
No comments Kilwinning
We wish to apply for funding to purchase new tennis nets, rackets and balls to enhance our new Tennis courts that are nearly at the completion stage. Over the years we have successfully ran tennis summer camps at the club with the small pop up nets on our astro turf. The camps have always been busy and the particapants have had a great time. The funding will allow us to invest in new equiptment for the community to use during the year as we will now run a year long tennis programme. The new courts will be the only tennis courts in Kilwinning and are bound to be a hit given our past track record of delievering successfull projects. we are in the process of forming a constitued Tennis Club who will use this funding to go from strenght to strength.

The link between exercise and mental health is complicated. Inactivity can be both a cause and a consequence of mental illness, for example. But there are lots of ways that exercise can benefit your mental health, such as:
-
The levels of chemicals in the brain, such as serotonin, stress hormones and endorphins, change when you exercise.
-
Regular exercise can help you sleep better. And good sleep helps you manage your mood.
-
Exercise can improve your sense of control, coping ability and self-esteem. People who exercise regularly often report how good achieving a goal makes them feel.
-
Exercise can distract you from negative thoughts and provide opportunities to try new experiences.
-
It offers an opportunity to socialise and get social support if you exercise with others.
-
Exercise increases your energy levels.
-
Physical activity can be an outlet for your frustrations.
-
Exercise can reduce skeletal muscle tension, which helps you feel more relaxed. North Ayrshire ice hockey club creates a safe environment to children/ young adults to support the training needs, proving them with coaches to support ongoing training needs and a facility to do this safely.
