<p>After the success of the fun day in July 2023 we thought it would be great to be able to replicate and add to this for 2024 whilst trying to keep everything as low cost as possible. From Pony rides to misbehaving donkeys, and the cutest alpacas around there will be something for all the family to enjoy. We are applying for this funding towards the cost of activities for next year.</p>

<p>The Virtual Dementia Tour is the only scientifically and medically proven method of giving a person with a healthy brain the experience of what dementia might be like. Invented over 23 years ago in America, the virtual Dementia Tour has been experienced by over 5 million people in 22 countries. The Virtual Dementia Tour has been available in the Uk for over 6 years and over 1 million people have participated in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. Some of the organisation that have accessed this training are care providers, NHS trusts, Councils , Fire Services, Police, Prisons, Universities and many more. This inspirational training is changing the lives of so many including the amazing people that support people with dementia.</p> <p>When a person that has dementia has finally been diagnosed, we must give the support team around them a true understanding of what they are experiencing and what they experience during their future dementia journey. The Virtual Dementia Tour is a vital bridge to entering their world, it is unlike any training course available and challenges the misconceptions surrounding dementia.</p> <p>The Virtual Dementia Tour is available for your staff, families and anyone that comes in to direct or indirect contact with people living with dementia.</p>

<p style="margin-bottom:11px"><span style="font-size:11pt"><span style="line-height:107%"><span style="font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">St Winin&rsquo;s Over 60&rsquo;S &nbsp;Club meets each Thursday throughout the year to allow older people to connect with others and enjoy a whole range of engaging and fun activities. &nbsp;The club aims to reduce social isolation and provide a safe and welcoming space where older people feel included and valued. &nbsp;Our club encourages group members to meet new people, enjoy a chat in the&nbsp;good company of others. The club is open to anyone over the age of 60 and has a long standing commitment to supporting older people in the local community that spans over 30 years. &nbsp;The club recently celebrated our 30th anniversary in March 2023. &nbsp;<br /> Our weekly meetings take in St Winnins church hall and this incurs a weekly letting fee of &pound;50. Due to the cost living crisis, we are unable to ask any more than a minimal weekly fee from our group members. &nbsp;These weekly fees help pay for tea/coffee/ biscuits which are offered each week. We are looking for funding to help us pay for the ongoing costs of this weekly letting fees.<br /> &nbsp;In addition, our group particularly enjoys hosting a variety of seasonal celebrations. These&nbsp;promote the positive health and wellbeing of our group members, raise&nbsp;spirits and provide lots of good fun. &nbsp;We would like to seek funding to enable us to hold a Burns Supper in the New Year. &nbsp;This would include the cost of catering, decorations, music and hall let.</span></span></span></p>

<p>Largs Museum has a wonderful collection of Art, Artifacts, Photographs and Postcards, many of which are over 100 years old.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br /> <br /> It is important that these collections be digitized&nbsp;so&nbsp;they&nbsp;can be made readily available to the local community without placing any undue stress on the originals many of which are fragile.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> All of&nbsp;the musuem&#39;s collections relate to our local heritage such as artifacts, events, people and&nbsp;places.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>As an independent museum run by volunteers we are funded mainly by donations from visitors to the museum.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

<p>BABCA would like to organise a Country and western Social evening to try and get older people and adults back into the way of attending social events in Towerlands Community Centre.We would like to organise a free evening event to encourage people to socialise. People have got in to the way of staying in their houses during covid we would like to invite people in the local area to an evening of Country music with a live band. We woud like to turn the centre into the wild west providing an evening of live music with a theme. This community event would bring people together and help people who have been social isolated meet new friends. &nbsp;</p>

<p>LifeLines is a group supported by Salcoats Link up team based in the Argylle Community Centre.</p> <p>The Launch of new Lifelines Digital Resource took place this month,&nbsp;&nbsp;raising awareness &amp; providing information on suicide prevention and support services. The group focus on finding local services to keep adding to this vital resouce and keeping it updated. They are looking to purchase promotional material and information banners and a gazebo.&nbsp;</p>
