For our gala days 2027, we would like to host a 2-day event as has been done in the past, while attempting to provide as much free entertainment as we possibly can. This will include children's entertainers, tribute acts, face painting and funfair rides among other plans we have that are not yet confirmed. We have had confirmation from Albert who runs the funfair at Oscars - this is where we plan to host the event in 2027, and he has agreed to provide free rides for families attending. We are awaiting a formal quote from him, however this is estimated to cost around £500. 

We are also asking for assistance towards the cost of Starlite Entertainment - they will provide the stage, generators and sound system for £1200 for the 2 days. We are asking for £500 towards the cost of this in addition to fundraising events currently in the planning stage between now and July 2027. 

Making the event free means that people from financially disadvantaged households can attend without having to worry about the cost. It would also give local people a chance to get together, socialise and enjoy something in their community. The event could help reduce isolation, especially for families and young people, while also bringing more visitors into Saltcoats and supporting nearby local businesses.
