At the West Kilbride Community Sports Club we are looking to provide new Astro and eventually a new grass pitch for the people of the village and beyond. This is a massive venture that is currently being dealt with in manageable chunks. £1000 would help provide WiFi and security for this project, something that is of utmost importance.

We are in the process of applying for funding for upgrade of our grass pitch to 3g surface which would let all 5 youth teams boys and girls  use the facility  along side our senior Amateur team ..

1 ) This encourages young children from 5 years of age to teenagers to be active in Sports and keep them off street corners or sitting at home on pads

2) We are registered with the SFA  which enables us to apply for a Quality Mark starting at Bronze level and working up to Gold status .

3) our Club is one of the longest standing Cluns in the Ayrshire area established in 1947 with a good hard working committee

We require to purchase sporting equipment to ensure the continued running of the club. This includes kit (strips), training equipment and balls. These are crucial to the continued existence of the club. As the ONLY free to participate club in Ayrshire and probably Scotland, we rely on funding to keep the facility available to those who may not be able to participate, keep fit, grow socially due to lack of money! £1000 will achieve these goals and contribute to the annual costs of around £5000 pa.

Largs Academy Pupil Activities Day Fund 2025/26

2025-09-09  •  No comments  •  TraceyOrr  •  North Coast

The Pupil Leadership Team at Largs Academy  were tasked with the responsibility to identify what priorities the young people of Largs Academy  would like to see in the Pupil Improvement Plan,  To do this polls were taken at Year Assemblies and a popular theme raised was to offer more affordable school trips and fun events across the school.  These pupils  planned and organised a number of activities,  including sailing, water sports, ice skating, climbing wall and gymnastics, for an end of school year “Activities Day”, to enhance the health and wellbeing, independence and confidence of the young people, before presenting at a whole school assembly. This was welcomed by pupils with over 500, representing more than 50% of the school roll, signing up to an activity. Data showed that there was a number of young people who were assisted by school funds in order for them to attend a chosen activity. This is supported by the statistic that 15% of pupils are Largs Academy are in receipt of free school meals and uniform grant.  £1000 would allow the Parent Council  to work with the Pupil Leadership Team  to develop this “Activities Day” project  in the current school year, providing more options and opportunities for the young people and ensure that no one misses out on an end of school year activity due to cost.
