Greenwood Academy Duke of Edinburgh
2025-09-19 • No comments • • Irvine
Duke of Edinburgh helps to develop young peoples' confidence and wilderness skills. It is an amazing opportunity which also encourages young people to volunteer in the local community as one of the four sections.
Last year 30 pupils participated in the Duke of Edinburgh Award and this year the number has nearly tripled to 85. The equipment we have has damage due to wear and tear adn also we do not have the quantitty needed to allow all of these young people to partcipate in the award. We are also aware that we live in an area of high deprivation and some young people would be unable to afford to buy the specific equipment needed to participate in the wilderness experience.
We are looking for funding to give the experience to all young people as this would offer equity to all.
Sleeping Bags- £85 x5= £425
Walking Boots £57.50 x 10= £575

Primary Schools' Education Programme: Irvine Burns Club
2025-09-01 • No comments • • Irvine
To reinforce the school visits, Irvine Burns Club produce a workbook for each attending pupil, the stock of which require to be replenished.
For the verse speaking event, funding is sought to provide trophies for the pupils representing their schools by performing their chosen poem in three categories, Primaries 1-3, Primaries 4-5 and Primaries 6-7.
Those nominated by their schools are also eligible to compete in the Ayrshire Association of Burns Clubs’ Schools’ Competition held later in the year.
There are 12 Primary Schools in the Irvine Area, and it is hoped that, again, all would participate.
We seek funding towards the re-printing costs of the workbooks, £1000, and the purchase of 39 trophies at a approximate cost of £800, a total of £1800. However, only £1000 is being requested towards this cost.
2026 marks a 200-year unbroken history since Irvine Burns Club was founded in 1826.
In promoting the works of Burns and his significant links with Irvine, annual we host visits to the museum and a verse speaking event for primary school pupils. We also welcome other groups and individuals who wish a tour of the building and to view the treasures we hold.
In partnership with NAC and other organisations we developed several initiatives in the town including the Herbour Dauner.
Towerlands youth club
2025-09-19 • No comments • • Irvine
The young people of Towerlands youth club would like some new sports equipment to add to our limited collection. New sports equipment would mean we can play new games and try new sports that arent as well known. This would encourage new and returning members to keep coming and share with their peers to grow our group as stailness in activities has taken a hit on our numbers. The next thing they asked for was a trip to bounce station. Towerlands is in the most deprived according to Scottish index of multiple depravation in income, education and unemployment. So a chance for fun days like this would severly boost mental health and encourge new members to join and build friendships. Lastly we would use the rest of the money to get vouchers to cover food and snacks that we would need for movie nights or cooking/baking.
Break down:
Sports equipment £500
Footballs, soft balls and basketballs £40 - Basket ball adjustable hoops £259.99 - Portable goals £19.99 - 4 in 1 games table (pool, football, hockey, table tennis) £147.99 - £30 Rackets and shuttlecocks.
Trip to bounce station
At £15 per person we would like 30 tickets
And lastly £50 for gift vouchers.
Glebie Gardeners
2025-09-11 • No comments • • Irvine
Glebie Gardeners is a community gardening project based in the grounds of Glebe Primary. Children, parents/carers and local partners will come together at the after-school gardening club to learn how good grows from seed to plate. The project will teach children about herbs and vegetables, support them to cook simple dishes such as soups and give them practical life skills. Any vegetables or herbs grown will be available for families to use to enhance their own meals which will also support them during the cost-of-living crisis.
We are seeking funding to purchase four large wooden planters, compost and a few sets of gardening tools. These will provide the essential resources to get children planting, nurturing and harvesting their own produce.
The project will benefit all children of Glebe by helping them to understand sustainability, heathy eating and where their food comes from. It will also strengthen relationships across generations, as parents and partners share their knowledge and skills while working alongside the children.
We believe this idea deserves to be funded because it combines education, health, and community spirit. By investing in Glebie Gardeners, you will be helping young people develop communication skills, confidence and an appreciation of nature, all whilst creating lasting bonds within the community.

North Ayrshire Darts Academy

If sucessfull we would like to purchase new dart boards and dart board surrounds. Over the years of playing and the amount of players the boards and surrounds have became wornout. This would allow us to continue with the group and young people can build on their skills. Due to the sucess of the academy we host Scottish ranking competitions throughout the year. New boards and surrounds will allow us to continue to host these games. Hosting these games create a great sense of achievement for the young people in the academey. It builds confidence, pride and accomplishment. Please see breakdown of costings below:
10 New Winmau triple core dartboards - £79.95 x 10 = 799.50 10 New heavy duty dart board surrounds - £21.99 x9 = £197.91
Total - £997.41
Irvine Meadow 2013

Since moving to 11s, game time is longer and the pitch size is bigger meaning that our weekly costs have risen. This last year we are constantly coming up against financial barriers due to the rising costs of hiring pitches, referee costs, coaches training certificates and equipment.
The team have recently raised funding via sponsorship from local businesses and parental contribution to get new strips for the start of the season as the boys had all outgrown their kit. All funding raised paid for the new kits for the boys.
We are seeking funding to purchase new training kits, this will be shorts, tops and socks. Funding is all sought for new equipment of balls, cones and training poles. Having all the boys in the same kit promotes inclusion and uniformity.
We seek this funding to ease the financial pressure on parents/carers who already contribute monthly to the team.
Breakdown of costs;
16 training strips (shorts, top, socks) x £50.00 £800.00
Equipment (balls, cones, training poles) £200.00
