Lights and Laughter

Beith Town Centre Initiative is seeking funding to install and operate festive lighting for our annual Christmas Light Switch-On. This much-loved community tradition brings together families, local businesses, and visitors to celebrate, strengthen community spirit, and support the town’s local economy. The Christmas Light Switch-On is more than just a seasonal event. It fosters pride and belonging, creating a sense of joy and togetherness during a time that can be challenging for many.

Buddy Benches Pilot Project for Primary Schools
No comments Kilwinning
The members of the Kilwinning Community Shed would like to embark on a pilot project to create a 'buddy bench' for use in a locally identified primary school, and if successful, to roll this project out to other primary schools in the Kilwinning area. Alongside a buddy bench we would also aim to offer an outdoor chalkboard with the option to include an indoor 'postbox' whose function is determined by the school themselves.

BABCA would like to organise two events a valentine dance for the adults and Easter event for the children. BABCA ask the community at there events what they want in their community. We recently organised a 50th Anniversary for the area. We love to see people socialising of all ages and of all walks of life. We like social events as this brings the community together and socialise and make new friends at our events it also helps people who are isolated know what's going on at the centre.
Kids Breakfast Club - Whitlees and Ardeer Partnership
No comments Community Wealth Building PB
We are community centre in Ardrossan and from January we are working with Ardeer to open their cafe. At Whitlees we run a free breakfast club between 8 and 9 am, which is very popular. We would love to try this as a pilot scheme at Ardeer as part of the cafe project to see if it works as Ardeer sits between 2 primary schools. Whitlees have £4060 funding from Bright Start for our own club so hopefully next year they would also fund this project after a pilot.

We are currently looking to apply for PB to help restore our polytunnel and raised beds due to wear n tear with the weather over the years . The garden is used to supply local community and Choices food larder for free with the produce that they grow. this is attended by both the young and elderly(intergenerational) and is now also extended to recovery groups to have that piece of mind pottering about in an open space and benefiting their mindset.
