We are the Junior Section of Garnock Rugby Club.  We strive to keep rugby as affordable as possible to young people while providing opportunities to promote health and wellbeing through physical activity.  We would like to purchase equipment and make a contribution towards the costs the club incurs to hire indoor and astro turf facilities during the winter months.  This allows young people to continue to participate in rugby activities during the winter months thus supporting their health and weelbeing (physical and mental).  By seeking funding we are able to keep our membership and siubscriptions fees as low as possible to ensure costs are not restrictive in people being involved in the sport.

As a group we would love to offer the children the opportunity to go on a field trip where they have the chance to work, play and learn in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment with their peers. We have a number of younger children with hidden disabilities and being with other children they develop their confidence and the older children learn the skills and the responsibilities of mentoring.  This is the youth and future of the Garnock Valley and watching the relationships build and grow outwith of our group is a special bond.

Some of the children in our group do not  have the opportunity, due to the cost of living crisis, to broaden their life experiences outwith their immediate environment.  Attending a fun day with friends would boost morale and their mental wellbeing.  We would also be looking at providing a nutritious meal to all attending, promoting the importance of healthy eating.

The Ardrossan Youth Association is managed by young people, looking to provide support, tackle isolation and promote positive mental health. This has been acheived in the past by providing trips with Ocean youth trust, attending youth festivals and through multiple groups and activities. The association also run different groups like Art group, Youth groups, Duke of Edinburgh, Cooking activities, and hold weekly committee and planning meetings.

The association is looking to start cooking classes which will look at how to cook on a budget. They are looking for funding to purchase an oven as the one they have at present is broke.

They are also looking to purchase food and and drink for the family fun day next year. along with other activities happening inside and outside the centre, there will be a barbeque.

The association is looking to purchase stationary to help with committee meetings and planning.

Lastly, the association is looking to purchase a new Karaoke system. this is due to the high demand in the centre from all young people.

Night Time Soccer and Fly Tying are the choice of activities by the young people. The age range cover 8 years to 25 years old and will be split across 2 age ranges.

Soccer Training -  3 hours per session at £22.50 per hour x 2 sessions = £135 per week for an 8 week taster.

This will run over the course of a year, Fullarton HUb are providing the flood lit pitch free of charge and are seeking furthter funding to continue this beyiond the 8 week period. There will be no charge for the participants as the cost of living crisis means households have no money for leisure activities. We want this to be as inclusive as possible.

The 'self-care sunday' will be open to children and young people aged 11-26, and will be inclusive of the following activities to promote physical and mental wellbeing; therapy dogs, introduction to yoga and mindfulness, introduction to reki, havening session, art therapy, journalling and gratitude workshop. The Dance Depot Lyrical Squad is part of Tracy Finlay’s Dance Depot, a welcoming and inclusive dance school in Kilwinning that provides local children aged 5-18 the chance to explore dance in a fun, friendly, and affordable environment. The school’s focus is on making dance accessible to everyone, and the competition team offers an opportunity for those who want to take their dancing further to experience the excitement and discipline of performing at a competitive level.

Although the Dance Depot is primarily a recreational school, the DDLS competition team competes in national competitions, with over 35 local dancers proudly representing Ayrshire and Scotland. One of the key events is the Blackpool Winter Gardens competition in March 2025, where the dancers showcase the results of their dedication and hard work from the season. This experience is a highlight for the dancers, allowing them to perform on a prestigious stage and enjoy the thrill of competition.

However, participating in these competitions involves significant costs, including entry fees, costumes, and travel. The Dance Depot is committed to keeping these opportunities accessible for all its dancers, regardless of financial background, by covering costs like the £80 entry fee per dancer for Blackpool through fundraising and community support.

The Youth PB grant would go directly towards these entry fees, ensuring that no dancer misses out due to financial constraints. The aim is to keep the competitive experience open to everyone, allowing all dancers in our community to build confidence, develop teamwork, and gain valuable life skills through dance.

By supporting The Dance Depot Lyrical Squad, the Youth PB grant will massively contribute to help make these experiences possible, empowering young people to grow and thrive in a supportive environment.
