Total budget £9,810

Ardrossan Winton Rovers Girls Under 12s

2024-09-19  •  No comments  •  KD21  •  Three Towns

We are looking to fund new strips for the full team and jackets suitable for the lovely Scottish weather. As a team we always try fundraise as much as possible to bring down the costs for those within the team. Fundraising allows the team to be more inclusive and ensures that where possible the only costing for those in attendance is the monthly fees.

The girls are all in need of new home and away strips due to their current strips being too small. We are hopeful if successful with the grant to fund 16 away strips and 16 jackets.

Strips x 16 - £540 (£33.75 each)

Jackets x 16 - £480 (£30 each)

If successful the girls will help design the new away kits and be involved in the design as well as choosing colours.

The Ardrossan Youth Association is managed by young people, looking to provide support, tackle isolation and promote positive mental health. This has been acheived in the past by providing trips with Ocean youth trust, attending youth festivals and through multiple groups and activities. The association also run different groups like Art group, Youth groups, Duke of Edinburgh, Cooking activities, and hold weekly committee and planning meetings.

The association is looking to start cooking classes which will look at how to cook on a budget. They are looking for funding to purchase an oven as the one they have at present is broke.

They are also looking to purchase food and and drink for the family fun day next year. along with other activities happening inside and outside the centre, there will be a barbeque.

The association is looking to purchase stationary to help with committee meetings and planning.

Lastly, the association is looking to purchase a new Karaoke system. this is due to the high demand in the centre from all young people.

Dykesmains Parent Council

2024-09-06  •  No comments  •  Mhari Summon  •  Three Towns

The Dykesmains Parent Council seeks funding for transport to the annual school Pantomine outing, aiming to reduce costs for parents and carers so that no child misses out. Last year the children of Dykesmains missed out on the opportunity to attend a Panto due to the cost of living crisis, instead the Pantomine came to Dykesmains. Although the children enjoyed the Pantomine, they missed out on the excitement and magic of going to the theatre.

A vote was carried by the school: 151 children were asked if they would like to go out of school to see the pantomine, this resulted  in 147 children voting YES! Also P1 and P2 have not had this experience yet.

We require between 5 - 7 buses depending on the configuration to take the children from Dykesmains to the Gaiety Theatre in Ayr and back to school again. Total cost for transport: £1210.00

As you can appreciate this can be costly to most families, as Dykesmains Parent Council ethos is to reduce the cost of the school day we would like to give back to our school community.

St John's Primary School Pupil Council PB Bid

2024-09-12  •  No comments  •  St John's Pupil Council  •  Three Towns

We wish to continue with the success of our lunchtime & afterschool clubs. The funds would allow us to pay for transport to take the pupils attending those clubs to upcoming tournaments and events that are organised by North Ayrshire Active Schools. We would add to our existing sports kit to allow the children to be identified and part of the team. We have Young Sports Leaders who have responsibility for promoting physical activity in the playground. Primary 7 undertook training in playground games and have requested playground equipment to fully engage all the children in the school. Some of the fund would be used to purchase this equipment. We will work closely with North Ayrshire’s Active Schools Coordinator to successfully deliver lunchtime clubs, which will run each day for the rest of the academic year. Physical and mental health and wellbeing is always at the heart of St. Johns PS agenda. Afterschool sports clubs are an excellent way to engage children in physical activity and improve their health and mental well-being. Exposing children to sports and physical activity in an afterschool environment encourages them to explore the sport in the community and strengthens the pathways into the sport. It is hoped that the afterschool clubs will encourage more children to participate in sport and thus increase their physical fitness. Due to the cost-of-living crisis, after school clubs are the only opportunity that some children have to participate in sports. Through this fund we wish to improve aspects of fitness and develop personal and interpersonal skills and attributes. We want to enable learners to develop the concepts and skills necessary for participation in a wide range of physical activity, sport and outdoor learning and enhance their physical wellbeing in preparation for leading a fulfilling, active and healthy lifestyle. The school’s Young Sports Leaders (Primary 6 and 7 pupils) are involved in this application through providing their opinion on the after-school clubs they wish to have established. The have selected the equipment needed for their lunchtime ‘Playground Games’ club.

Sports equipment - £500

School sports kit - £200

Buses to sporting events - £300

TOTAL - £1000

Empowering Personal Safety courses for Children & Youths

2024-08-30  •  1 comment  •  info@scotcps.org.uk  •  Three Towns

We plan to run over 26 Personal Safety training sessions in schools and youth groups across the Three Town area. The training will cover a diverse range of personal safety topics that affect young people's mental health. We will show young people how to avoid and, if necessary, defend themselves against bullies and abusers; how young children can escape from an abduction; how teenagers can identify date rape drugs, spiking and bogus taxi drivers; and we will teach young people self defence skills against a variety of attack scenarios including headlocks, strangulation, knife attacks, back attacks and ground attacks (including defence against sexual assaults for teenage girls, if required).

The empowering effects of our training have been known to save lives - both in defending themselves against potentially lethal attacks and steering young people away from taking their own lives.

For children/youths who are suffering from trauma after being severely attacked by bullies, we will also offer 30 x individual trauma-informed, empowerment-focussed Personal Safety training which includes emotional support to help them recover from their ordeal.

In total, we aim to train / help over 500 children and youths.

A breakdown of our costs are as follows;

20 x Personal Safety sessions in Auchenharvie Academy £400

30 x individual trauma-informed, empowerment-focussed Personal Safety sessions for children/youths traumatised by bullying/abuse. £600

2 x Personal Safety sessions in Ardrossan Academy            £40

4 x Personal Safety sessions for Three Town youth groups £160

Transport, lunch and refreshment costs £100

Total cost of this project is £1,300 however our charity will pay £300 towards these costs.

Group of secondary age pupils who are expeirenced who come together monthly to discuss the things in care that affect them.  The time is also used to build friendships and develop new skill s like team building, event planning and much more. We are looking to use the funds to enable us to become a more established group and to buy resources that we can use to make stuff that help us stand out such as tshirts, badges ect.   Our main aim is to buy resources such as arts equipment and distraction tools that we can create a calming box for other care experienced young people in our locality/school that we can give out which also can include information on our group to let them know we are here for them but we would also include print out's that may be helpful to them in their care journey.

Our team would love to take part in several festivals across the summer break, allowing the children to experience tournament football and being awarded medals. These cost £90 per team, so with the number we have we can often register 2 teams for 7 aside games. For 3 tournaments this would cost £540.

The fee to hire the all weather floodlit pitches costs £85 per week now, so to keep the weekly costs the same for parents and not having to increase fees, the remaining £460 would go towards pitch hire and spare equipment such as bibs, cones, balls.

St Peter's Parent Council: sport for all

2024-09-13  •  No comments  •  nicole.cooke1985  •  Three Towns

The after-school classes are offered to all of the pupils at St Peter's. These clubs are free and local to the children, which means parents avoid travelling to drop off/collect their children, and save money on extra-curricular activities. The clubs have many other benefits - as well as developing healthy minds and bodies, they equip the children with valuable skills that will help them throughout their time in school and onto later life.

To make the clubs more fun and inclusive, sports kits are required for the children to wear in tournaments against other schools. A team kit will help to create a sense of identity and unity among the teams, promote a sense of equality, and help to boost morale and confidence, creating a sense of pride.

Due to the cost of living crisis, it is not practical to ask parents to contribute to the cost of the kits.

Funding is also required for new sports equipment to be used at the after-school clubs, as well as during class time.

The funding will be spent on the following:

Training bibs - £70 Full kits (tops, shorts, socks, etc) for all teams - £700 Sports equipment (netballs, footballs, goals, tennis rackets and balls) - £230
