The sewing machines we have been using are old and well used. Unfortunately, we have some machines in need of repair which would cost too much. Our group is well attended by users and non-users alike. The funds we are requesting are to purchase new sewing machines and equipment for the group. This will allow us to continue to provide sewing advice and training for the community. Not only this we provide opportunities for people to come together to socialise, participate in group and individual activities and also promote good mental wellness.

We run Garnock Valley Carves, which takes place on Saturday 9th September and is expected to attract around 3000 visitors. 28 carvings (produced by 14 international carvers) will be auctioned at the end of the day, some for community benefit.
The event costs around £12000 to run. We try to make all children's activities free, with reduced entry for families (under 5's are free). Free stalls are offered to all not for profit community groups.

We would like to put on cooking classes. Providing meals as everyone was cooking in their houses. Now most of them do not do it so we would like to bring back classes for families to cook together then have a meal together, then an activity each week. We will give families couples and single parents bringing everyone together and play an activity. We would also give them food from the larder which the funding from this would go towards. We would also let the kids take the lead on some seeks to build their confidence.
