Area around Nethermains - there needs to be a plan for how this can develop. Lots of trees were planted by IDC between Almswall Rd and the river and this area has been allowed to become a bit of a wilderness. Look at the satellite map to see how tree formations were laid out to the east of the Nethermains Centre. Much more could be made of this.
New housing developments above 100 houses should include a play area for children.
Kilwinning town centre and some of the surrounding residential areas feel neglected and would benefit from investment. The town centre in particular could be made more attractive and welcoming, with better maintenance, improvements to empty or run-down areas, more greenery and more reasons for people to actually spend time there. Parks, play areas and spaces for older children and teenagers also need continued investment
