Reducing opening times so that there is no after '5pm' opening time is going to impact a lot of people as there are a lot of people who with between the hours of 8-6.
Even if there was an implemented safe way to 'drop off' returned books, the reduced evening times would likely result in less books borrowed by that group of people too.

I was planning to go on a Tuesday when the library is open to 7pm but this will stop as part of the proposal. The new proposed hours will be hard to fit around my shifts. I think there should be at least one late night opening for people who work full-time and may not be available at the weekend.

I am a member of a book club in Irvine. Kilwinning Library is my local place for sourcing and borrowing books.
Not me partially however later nights were a godsend for additional study time for my children at exam times.
