Summary

Power Supply for Outside Broadcast events.

Within the wider community we will work with local charities and groups to provide a platform to promote their services by providing our services at outdoor events. This could be in the form of music and PA announcments at events. This will make people aware of groups supporting mental health and wellbeing and an avenue for those with mental health issues. Benefits to the local community;

  1. The promotion of community-led events relating to mental health and well-being.
  2. Make people aware of groups supporting mental health and well-being.
  3. Improved social awareness and interaction.

Description

To facilitate the outside broadcasts, we require to purchase a portable petrol/diesel generator sufficient enough to provide power for our equipment at events. Currently we would need to pay high rates for hire of the equipment which we would need to pass on to the groups as an increased cost. With a generator we can lower the costs to the locals groups

We estimate that the generator would cost £400.

Location: Irvine Beat FM is a Community Radio Station based in Irvine and surrounding areas. The Station provides health and social education to the local area, which is listed within the lowest 20% on the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation, by broadcasting health and well-being related programming. The station is a Scottish registered charity (SCIO - SC042902) and is run and managed entirely by 25 volunteers. The Station is not a commercial radio station. As part of our commitment to the community we want to expand our activities to be the main Information Hub for the community in the local area. This will be done by continuing to achieve the following objectives and increase our involvement with all the local groups in the area and provide a platform for the promotion of community-led events relating to mental health and well-being
