Description
We would like to purchase a fleet of free to use bikes for our new pump track at Dyemill Bike Park. This will give children and young people the opportunity to try before they invest a bike of their own and reduce any financial barrier to participation. A free to use pump track is great but our chidlren and young people need a helping hand in getting started by providing readily availaible bikes. Bikes are a lifelong solution to many of societies problems and engaging people in their use early in their lives is key to sustained use.
£1000 will go towards 4 x balance bikes and 4 x BMX bikes. All will be entry level to show children and young people they do not need to spend a fortune to have fun. We will have a secure storage facility within our open shelter, adjacent the pump track. Participants will be shown how to maintain and check their bikes and coached in its use as part of AHSMBC wider activities.
