Project Summary
Further enhancing our 2026 activities for people with disabilities/poor mobility, we move towards increasing outdoor activity, encouraging new hobbies and increasing confidence. We aim to reduce social isolation and increase inclusion.Project Description
This fund will invite external facilitators and experiences providing new activities for attendees to try such as nature activities, healthy eating demos, furniture restoration, chair yoga, wellness tools, beach glass jewellery etc for those with disabilities. The overall aim is to promote curiousity and courage to try new things, pushing through comfort zones and limiting beliefs they may have. Attendees are encouraged to be the inspiration for each other, acknowledging that physical, mental and emotional health can improve by trying new activities and also meeting new people are all positive steps towards a healthier lifestyle. Travelling locally together with wheelchairs, mobility scooters etc provides a safer space for increasing active travel.
Our aim with this funding is to give disabled people a new ray of hope, an increased sense of confidence and support to find the courage to break through barriers which limit their quality of life.
Our project costs requested are £75 per month for inviting external facilitators to deliver new monthly experiences, exploring new ideas and new hobby potentials for participants. Each external facilitator will adjust their activity or experience to match the needs of the group.

Location: The main location will be Largs with public transport to Ardrossan and Saltcoats with easier access for wheelchairs and mobility scooters.
