Music@Wellwood organises educational events, aimed mainly at Senior School pupils, and concerts which are open to all members of the community. In conjunction with North Ayrshire Council Music Services, Music@Wellwood wishes to organise a Strings Masterclass for young people from across North Ayrshire. Those participating would receive guidance, technical advice and possible progression pathways into music.

Annually, P6 pupils and staff from all 12 local schools (498 in 2025) visit Wellwood Burns Centre & Museum to learn about Robert Burns and the role Irvine played in inspiring and encouraging Burns, the apprentice flax-dresser, to become Burns, the apprentice poet. The “Champion of Champions” verse speaking event allows primary pupils show their budding speaking skills, boosting their self-confidence and gain an appreciation of the Scots language.

Garnock Valley Sports Leaders

Garnock Valley Sports Leaders are a group of pupils who train in upskilling ourselves to go out into local primaries and secondary to provide sporting opportunities in the local area. As a group we want to be able to provide young people in our community with quality and equal opportunities to take part in sport. As a group we aim to get more young people involved in sport and be physically active through delivering different sessions and clubs across schools in the Garnock Valley.

We offer young people aged 4 to 18 years fun, friendship, and everyday adventure. From camping and hiking to creative arts, we help young people develop teamwork, confidence, and vital skills for life. We aim to improve children's mental health by giving them time away from screens and encourage them to communicate with their peers in a safe environment. We support children from all over the Garnock Valley and give them the confidence to try new skills to find where their niche may be.
