Project Summary

“Kicking Off Health, Confidence, and Team Spirit!” We want to grow our local boys’ football team to support young people’s health and wellbeing. Funding will provide kit, equipment, venue hire, and a Veo camera to boost learning and confidence. Our project makes football accessible for all, helping boys stay active, build friendships, and feel part of a supportive team.

Project Description

Our project aims to support the growth and development of a boys’ football team in our community, using sport as a tool to promote health, wellbeing, and inclusion. Many young people in our area face barriers to taking part in organised activities due to cost, limited opportunities, or lack of safe spaces. This project will break down those barriers by providing kit, training equipment, venue hire, and access to a Veo camera subscription.

Football is more than just a game – it encourages regular physical activity, helping young people build fitness, strength, and coordination. Just as importantly, it promotes mental wellbeing by boosting confidence, reducing stress, and creating a sense of belonging. Through being part of a team, boys will learn valuable life skills such as resilience, discipline, and teamwork, all within a safe and supportive environment.

The Veo camera will allow us to record matches and training sessions. This will give players the opportunity to reflect on their progress, celebrate achievements, and stay motivated. It will also allow families and the wider community to share in the journey, strengthening local connections and support.

By ensuring no boy is excluded due to cost, this project will open up opportunities for all, regardless of background. It will make sport accessible, enjoyable, and rewarding, helping to create healthier, happier, and more confident young people.

Why This Matters

This project is about more than football – it is about giving young people the chance to be active, healthy, and confident. It will reduce barriers, create opportunities, and make sure that sport is accessible to everyone, not just those who can afford it. By investing in our boys’ football team, we are investing in the wellbeing of our community’s young people and creating positive pathways for the future.
