The Women's meet in Argyle Community Centre but would like to expand the activities on offer to broaden the offer available to the women. Currently, the group meet within the centre but funding would allow the group to get about and about, participate in activities together and cover costs. Many of the women who attend live by themselves, and this group reduces isolation, promotes positive mental health, encourages and supports friendships and interests.
Project Description
We would like to apply for funds to cover the admission for local activities, some further afield such as the theatre.
£500 to cover admission costs for trips to place such as theatre, cinema, bowling etc for a group of 12 per trip over the course of one year.
£500 to cover food, including lunches, tea and coffee and a meal out for members.
Location: Saltcoats is a small seaside town that is home to around 12500 people. As the local Womens Group, we know there are high levels of poverty, social isolation and many people with mutliple health conditions. We hope to help reduce social isolation for women but with this financial support, it wont add any further burden on already stretched purse strings.
