We are trying to update our youth spaces so it can make young people more comfortable, so they feel like they have a safe and nurturing environment to go to when they need it the most.
Description
We the Garnock Valley Youth Forum help empower young people’s voices in the Garnock Valley. We do this by having young people lead activities and supporting the other youth groups in the area with whatever they need. we fundraise money for young people including this funding application we also do fundraisers for charity Aswell. To help support the young people in the Garnock Valley we want to update our youth meeting/nurture room as it has recently had a roof leak and our room is damaged and outdated and have some cooking sessions to help young people gain new life skills. the things we would like to get if we are successful are:
New seating as the old seating is long past its sell-by date and needs to be updated to help create a safe and nurturing environment £300
Equipment to re-paint the walls including paint as there has been water damage and it is mouldy, £100
A sensory box it will help support our young people's focus and help reduce stress using a grounding technique. £100
Supplies and resources for the cooking session: to help young people gain skills for life and support them and their families in the ongoing cost of living crisis this will include updating our Kitchen. £500
These new things will benefit any young person who uses the youth space in the walker hall open to all young people.
