West Kilbride Yuletide is an annual event that brings members of the local Community together to celebrate Christmas. All activities are free therefore everyone can participate and feel included. By providing free activities, it addresses poverty and inequality by making it accessible for everyone, which is important as we are going through a Cost of Living Crisis. The activities in this event will help to enhance the Mental Health and Wellbeing of the local Community.Description
West Kilbride Yuletide provide a range of activities for all ages and generations. Activities include: Parade, Santa's Grotto, Arts & Crafts, Market Stalls, Pipe Band, Brass Band, Animal Handling, Choirs, Face Painting, Glitter Painting Marshmallow Toasting, Balloon Twisting and many more.
To be able to offer these activities free to the local community, we need funding to be able to subsidise the cost of the activities.
To enable the Event to happen safely and within guidelines, certain legal procedures have to be put in place ie Road Closures for the Parade, Medical Cover, Public Liability Insurance etc. Without these in place, the activities will not be able to take place which would dilute the effect of the Festival and will not create the same level of Community Spirit.
It is vital funding is available to put these procedures in place as the success of the Yuletide event would be in jeopardy otherwise.
The cost for the Road Closures is £390; Balloon Twisting & Face Painting £350; First Aid Cover £213.60 Total Cost: £953.60
Location: West Kilbride Yuletide Group is a group of local people with the common interest of providing a celebration of the Festive Season for the local Community members. The Yuletide Group involve local groups/organisations and local businesses in the planning and co-ordination of the event making it fully inclusive. The Group strive to provide the best possible experience for everyone involved by providing free activities and entertainment so that no one will be left out due to not being able to afford to participate. The Group hope to build on the success of Yuletide 2023 by providing more activities, more street stalls, and an all round magical experience for everyone.
