There are some things in Kilwinning that support mental health and wellbeing, such as green spaces, walking routes, the library, community groups and local activities. However, I think there needs to be much more support specifically for children's and young people's mental health. Children can struggle for a long time while waiting for specialist services, so there should be more early support available locally, including counselling, wellbeing groups, safe spaces and support for children with additional needs. Help should be available when a child first starts struggling rather than only once they reach crisis point.
