NANN - Irvine Locality4. How can the North Ayrshire Nature Network (NANN) provide local opportunities for education and green skills development?
For example:
- could the NANN provide an outdoor learning experience for school children, young people and our wider communities?
- how could the NANN be used to develop green skills like wildlife tourism, land management, ecologists, countryside rangers?
put plants in and encourage volunteers to plant/grow flowers. our town centres do not plant flowers for wildlife
allotments needed in the area due to shortages
promote NANN on screen, raise awareness, promote the area, flyers (but then theres an expense)
educate schools and kids at young age
involve children though libraries
more education within schools/workshops about nature
more young people engaged, more schools engagement
outdoor learning for children, go into schools and nurseries
more volunteering opportunities
teaching nature in schools, sop using health and safety as an excuse to teach nature and gardening activities
