Older people being lonely and on own - get them out, pair them up with a younger person who volunteers and go to community things together to meet new people and do new things but would need money for transport and activities unless they got a travel pass and groups were free

people are struggling with increased cost of living and community groups try and help but some struggle to get people to help. Maybe more pay it forward ideas in local cafes would help or if they can volunteer their time they get a free meal or something. a local card where people get points for so much time they give to groups or businesses and then local supermarkets could be involved and a points sytem could work like a loyalty card where for so many points it can give you a voucher or a meal or food or something. This might encourage people to volunteer as they know they will get something back and by helping they might enjoy it and develop skills they can use if they need to get a job. To sign up there could be a joining incentive and it could ne well advertised. It would be for everyone so no criteria which might encourage a volunteering ethos in both the young and old and families could do it together. Cards for over 12 s or something?? local awards based on points?
