A major investment is needed to attract jobs and to make the town more attractive. Some of the brutalist buildings are lying vacant and would be better pulled down, turned into attractive green areas with some townhouses and flats. Irvine needs more amenities and sheltered housing in areas close to where people live. The town centre first policy clearly needs to be re-evaluated to suit the needs of our neighbourhoods. Open another road in and out of Castlepark with alternative bus routes considered.
