  • Fortunately the proposal translates to an increase in hours , which is a benefit to the community and a reflection of welcoming, professional staff in place .

    • Overall, the proposed changes would have little impact on me, as I am retired is able to go visit any of our local libraries at whatever day's time is convenient.

The increase in opening hours will make it easier to get there. A much welcomed change.

          • As an older woman whose family grew up with public libraries who uses them for both books, source of information as well as access to technology and support, having familiar faces who are accessible and knowledgeable and who understands my disabilities and age is key and a source of support and disability/age related isolation.

            • Changes to the opening times of Saltcoats library would have a beneficial effect i.e. the increased time on a Wednesday morning. It is good that the valuable contribution to the community is being recognised. The library is used by so many groups. The librarians are always so helpful.

              • With the extra hours, I will be able to use Saltcoats Library more often and at more convenient times. I borrow lots of books and enjoy the help and friendships made there among other readers and groups. Books have always been a big part of my life. The library has many services which I use and Has many services outwith those. As a partially deaf person I am so grateful for the monthly Hearing Clinic at the library, it is such a help re maintenance of both my hearing aids and quality of life. I would add that the staff in Saltcoats library are wonderful, friendly and extremely helpful - it is a pleasure to walk into the library and spend time there and learn from it.

                • I am long since retired so can fir round what works best for other users - working people, school children, the many groups using Saltcoats library for their meetings and importantly the staff. I have been a member for 22 years and this place is an important community hub in a warm welcoming space. I often pop in on my way home for a browse and a little sit down. We need it.

                    • I would make use of the library on Wednesdays. The extra hour on a Saturday will also be useful.
